Research activity program and Community Service are an Obligation for every active university. Law on the National Education System (No.20/2003) article: 20, Law on the national university (12/2012), Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation No 44/2015 and Ministerial Regulation No: 20/2018 stated that Research conduction activity is an obligation for every active University. University needs lecturers that have an experience and talent in producing a research proposal, conducting a research and then publish their research or creating a product that will be useful for the advancement of study and science in order to fullfill their obligation to produces a research. BINUS University's commitment in organizing a research activity is reflected on one of BINUS University's purpose and mission.
Bina Nusantara University's task and commitment in order to oblige the constitution and ministerial regulation are operated by the Vice Rector. In order to produce research activities, publication and several various output in Binus University's environment, A center/Division named Research Technological Transfer Office is created with the purpose of Managing every research activity and publication from the Institutional, Bioinformatics and data science (BDSRC) and several research groups according to their specific field of study.
Therefore, research Technology Transfer Vice Rector accountability report was created which functions as a media for accountability and obligation to the Rector of Bina Nusantara University. These are fields/aspects that needs to be achieved by the Research Technology Transfer Office division:

Artificial Intelligence Research and Development (AI R&D) Center aims to accelerate research and development of AI in Indonesia. To achieve this goal, AI R&D Center opens up collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI) research between academics and industries. The researches conducted in AI R&D Center will be focused on the use of state-of-the-art technique in AI, called as Deep Learning, to solve various challenging problems.

Plasma Technology for Non-Thermal Milk Pasteurization
Penelitian aplikasi non thermal plasma sebagai metode baru dalam proses pasteurisasi susu sapi ini menjadi menarik, pertama karena belum banyaknya penelitian terkait pengembangan plasma dingin di Indonesia, dan kedua terkait potensi besar aplikasinya dalam membuat sistem pasteurisasi baru secara non termal untuk menjaga kandungan nutrisi pada susu agar tidak rusak/terdegradasi akibat proses secara termal, yang sudah berjalan selama ini. Hal ini dikarenakan proses pengolahan susu yang berlangsung pada suhu 30°C yang merupakan suhu ambient dalam membunuh microorganisme yang ada pada susu. Rencananya penelitian ini akan terus peneliti lakukan hingga didapat hasil yang baik dan cukup sahih untuk dijadikan proses yang aman bagi pengolahan susu itu sendiri dan bisa dipakai oleh industry pengolahan susu. Bila penelitian ini mendapatkan kembali dana hibah, atau ada industri di bidang pengolahan susu sapi yang mau memakai teknologi plasma dingin ini maka potensi pemakaian hasil pengembangan sistem non termal plasma untuk pasteurisasi akan masuk ke tahap hilirisasi yang diperuntukkan pertama bagi kalangan pelaku UMKM yang berkecimpung pada usaha peternakan sapi dan turunannya seperti susu dan susu olahan sebelum di aplikasikan pada industri susu dengan skala industri yang lebih besar lagi.
SEKARMAS
SEKARMAS adalah sarana pengaduan dengan menggunakan aplikasi berbasis media sosial, dengan memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin canggih. Tujuan aplikasi ini adalah untuk meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengawasan program dan kinerja pemerintah agar penyelenggaraan pembangunan dan pelayanan publik berjalan semakin efektif.
Manfaat : - Mendorong pelayanan dari pemerintah kabupaten Karangasem semakin efektif melalui peningkatan kinerja e-government. - Membantu memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat dalam memajukan kotanya, dan pada akhirnya meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. - Memberikan guide line bagi pemerintah kabupaten dalam upaya peningkatan layanan kepada masyarakat melalui e-government. - Mendukung Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika dalam mengimplementasikan e-government berbasis media sosial di seluruh Indonesia.

Sistem Deteksi Tingkat Aktivitas Dalam Ruangan
Dalam penelitian ini, kami mengajukan pengembangan sistem otomatis untuk mendeteksi tingkat aktivitas di dalam ruangan. Motivasi dari penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta bahwa pemantauan aktivitas dalam ruangan sulit untuk secara nyata dikerjakan oleh pengelola bangunan. Di sisi lain, pemantauan aktivitas dalam ruangan yang efektif dapat memberikan banyak manfaat secara ekonomis, contohnya seperti penghematan penggunaan energi dan optimalisasi penggunaan ruangan. Walaupun saat ini pemantauan ruangan sudah dapat dimudahkan dengan penggunaan Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), namun pada praktiknya pemantauan sulit dijalankan secara waktu nyata, karena dibutuhkannya perhatian tanpa jeda dari karyawan pengelola bangunan.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan sistem kecerdasan buatan yang mampu melakukan otomatisasi pemantauan tingkat aktivitas dalam ruangan. Sistem kecerdasan buatan ini hanya memanfaatkan perangkat CCTV sebagai media pemantauan, sehingga tidak diperlukan pemasangan perangkat tambahan.
Luaran dari penelitian ini berupa sistem kecerdasan buatan yang mampu mendeteksi tingkat aktivitas berdasarkan rekaman video dari CCTV. Luaran ini ditargetkan untuk mencapai TKT skala 7 (demonstrasi prototype sistem dalam lingkungan sebenarnya). Untuk mencapai target ini, sistem yang dikembangkan akan diujikan dalam lingkungan nyata, sehingga dapat diukur kesiapan implementasinya di lingkungan sebenarnya.
